The origin

Kapé + expense.

Kapense began as two words, said as one.

In Paraguay, kapé is Guaraní slang for a friend, a companion, a partner. Expense is English for what you spend. The name is the job: a companion for spending.

From a personal need to an everyday product.

Understanding where money was going meant spreadsheets, or a process too heavy to keep up with.

That became a simple idea: log, ask, and understand without adding another heavy task to the day.

“Make a better relationship with money simple, familiar, and easy to sustain—not another complicated task.”
